Tai Chi and Qigong
___
Tai Chi (also called Taiji) is an ancient art embracing the mind, body and spirit originating in China. Practiced by over 350 million people worldwide, Tai Chi is one of the most effective exercises for health of mind and body. Although an art with great depth of knowledge and skill, it can be easy to learn by anyone and it quickly delivers health benefits.
Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) is an ancient Chinese exercise and healing technique that involves meditation, controlled breathing and movement exercises. Qi (“subtle breath” or “vital energy”) and Gong (“skill cultivated through steady practice”) opens the flow of energy in meridians used in acupuncture and Chinese medicine.
Physically, slow gentle qigong movements warm tendons, ligaments, and muscles, and promote circulation of body fluids (blood, synovial, lymph). Thousands of studies have shown Tai Chi and Qigong effective in helping to heal life challenges ranging from high blood pressure and chronic illness to emotional frustration, mental stress, and spiritual crisis.
